How to protect your personal data on blackberry
How many people who use Blackberry using their smartphone to store personal data?
I think mostly of them and … yes, i am one of them!
I always store bank account, username and password from my web login account, my boss’ birthday, my finance report and many more in my Blackberry.
And my question now is, is it safe? Yes at least until either you sell it or lost it.
There are a tips from Alex M, Security Product Manager at Research in Motion (RIM) as posted on Blackberry Blog.
- Make sure you set a password. If your blackberry lost and someone found it, he would not so easy to open your Blackberry. He only has 10 tries to get it right.
- Encrypt your content by enabling this feature: Options -> Security Options -> General Setting.
- If you lose your Blackberry, contact your carrier to disable your SIM card or if if you have a corporate account, make sure to contact your IT staff first and let they remotely wipe your data or enable security features
